Try a Different Kind of Poutine…
While our neighbours to the west are known for their fries, gravy and cheese curd concoctions, Acadians in New Brunswick have their own kind of poutine – the poutine râpée. This traditional dish consists of a boiled potato dumpling with a pork filling; it is usually prepared with a mixture of grated and mashed potato, and served with white or brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses or fruit preserves.
World Acadian Congress to be hosted by New Brunswick, Quebec and Maine
The 2014 World Acadian Congress will be hosted by northwestern New Brunswick, northern Aroostook County, Maine and the Témiscouata region of Québec. United by a shared history and family ties, this area— known as Acadia of the Lands and Forests—is a uniquely multicultural and international region that encompasses, unites and represents a vibrant cultural community.
Roosevelt Campobello International Park Celebrates 50 Years
From August 7-10, 2014, Campobello Island will be celebrating an important milestone – the 50th anniversary of Roosevelt Campobello International Park. Over the course of the weekend, several activities will be taking place to commemorate the importance of this site to both Canadians, and our American friends.

Historic Seaside Resort to Re-open
The Algonquin Resort, an iconic New Brunswick hotel since 1889, will be opening as Canada’s first property in the Marriott Autograph Collection in March 2014. Ranked as one of the best resorts in the world by Condé Nast Traveler in 2012, the Algonquin is under new ownership, and has been undergoing extensive refurbishments that will add modern amenities while retaining the old-world elegance that has welcomed world leaders, royalty and vacationers since its days as a majestic railway hotel.
