Breaking Italian Dominance

The previous record was held by Italian bakers, who in 2019 baked a baguette measuring 133 meters in length. For five years, Italy held the title of the country that produced the longest bread of this type in the world. The French, known for their long baking tradition and love of baguettes, decided to bring the record back to their country.

The Long Baking Process

The baking process began at 3:00 AM and lasted nearly 14 hours. Twelve bakers were involved in its preparation. The baguette was handcrafted from traditional ingredients: wheat flour, water, yeast, and salt. Each stage of production, from kneading the dough to baking it, took place in front of an audience gathered in a specially prepared tent on a viewing terrace in Suresnes.

The Record and Its Significance

This event not only attracted the attention of baking enthusiasts but also the local community, which had the opportunity to participate in a historic moment. After the baguette was officially measured and confirmed, it was cut and distributed to the residents, symbolically emphasizing sharing the success with others.

The record set by the French is not only proof of their baking skills but also an opportunity to celebrate the culture and traditions that are important to both the local and national community. This event reaffirmed that France is a country that values quality and tradition in baking, and the baguette remains one of the symbols of French cuisine worldwide.
