On Saturday, February 9, 2019, in Germany, in frames of the 69th Berlin International Film Festival and the European Film Market (EFM), the briefing by Russian Export Center took place. The briefing was dedicated to the creative industries as one the key factors for the international partnership and became the special event supported by the Made in Russia program of Russian Export Center.

 


The event was held in the conference room of the Adlon Kempinski Hotel.

The briefing was visited by over 80 film industry professionals from 8 countries. The representatives of Russian and international film industry, producers, sales agents, distributors, investors, insurance companies and trust funds members took part in the conference. Among the honored guests were the Vice President of the American Film Market Robin Barth, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Power To The Pixel Liz Rosenthal, the Founder of CineLorber Richard Lorber, the member of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Federative Republic of Germany Victor Ilyinsky, the former Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Dr. Wolf-Ruthard Born, the representative of the 3rd European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Daniil Bisslinger, and the McKinsey partner Niko Raabe.

The conference was aimed to open the discussion about the Russian creative industries opportunistic development. The partnership between Russia and Germany in the sphere of the film and animation industries, same as the evolution of economy in the creative business areas, and creation and support of the international art hubs, were the key topics during the briefing. Meanwhile, the organized event established the platform for the business networking in the informal settings.



Conference moderators: Ekaterina Mtsituridze, general director ROSKINO, and Christopher Vourlias, the market expert and journalist of the main publication in the cinema and media industry Variety.

Briefing speakers: The REC’s director of external communications Vera Podguzova, executive producer of Planeta Inform Dmitry Litvinov, head of marketing department and PR company Tvzavr Olesya Teplova, director, producer Nadezhda Mikhalkova, producer Anna Kachko, executive producer of Wizart Vladimir Nikolayev.

During the discussion, the major current topics of the film industry were covered. The session was focused on such themes as the experience in the international cinematographic partnership, film production and the perspectives of the industry development, Russian and international investment opportunities in the projects of joint production, and the potential fields for the interstate cooperation.

The outcome of the conference was the partnership offers to the Russian participants from the international partners, and the numerous proposals for placement of the upcoming content from Russia on the major international streaming services.
