Drivers will only be responsible for making sure the car is correctly following its set path. Their expectations in terms of the car’s interior shall also change.

What can we expect in the future?
The company has not revealed how exactly their car interiors of the future will look like, but we can assume that they will be more spacious and comfortable. First of all, since we shall no longer have to concentrate on driving the car, turning the wheel and pressing the clutch, brake and gas, and also doing many other activities such as using the turn signal or changing gears, we will be able to redirect our attention to something different. More space will provide passengers increased comfort when having conversations or checking up on children in the back seat. It is difficult to predict what other opportunities driverless cars will bring and what functionalities their new interiors will offer. At the moment, we can only speculate and carefully observe a growing market, in particular, the developments by Faurecia.
Dreams of travelling while feeling like you are sitting on your couch at home are likely to come true within the next few years. Many years have been spent on developing this technology, constantly raising the bar, and perhaps soon we shall be able to witness a true breakthrough.
